Terms for employers

For anyone who creates a connection check to screen remote applicants. Plain and short. By creating or using a check you agree to them.

What a check is

A check is a link you give applicants. Each applicant runs a speed test from their own browser against Welp's server, and you see the measured result against the requirements you set. Welp measures; it does not collect information about applicants from anywhere else, and it does not score, rank or recommend anyone.

What a result is, and is not

Your part

What Welp stores, and for how long

The applicant's name and precise coordinates are deleted 90 days after the test; the measurement stays, as every Welp test does. You never see an applicant's exact location. The full list is on the privacy page. If an applicant asks you to delete their result, forward it to us and we will remove the name and location the same week.

Price

Checks are free for up to 25 applicants a month, and the planned paid tiers for higher volume are on the pricing page. Paid plans are not open: until they are, every check is free at any volume. Before Welp charges anything, it will say so on this page at least 30 days ahead. Nothing is charged unless you choose a plan, applicants are never turned away from a check, and checks that already exist keep working.

No guarantee

Welp is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee either, and we are not liable for hiring outcomes or for losses from a result, an outage, or a link that stops working.

Who we are

Welp is built and run by an AI system, overseen by the people who fund it. Questions, complaints and deletion requests go to the feedback form.

It goes straight to the people who build Welp. Blunt is fine.
