Right now, everything is free
- Paid plans aren't open yet. Until they are, every check is free at any volume. Before anything is charged, we'll say so on the terms at least 30 days ahead.
- Nobody is billed by surprise. There is no card on file and no account. A paid plan only starts if you choose one.
- Applicants are never turned away. If a check goes past its plan, your applicants can still test. We'll ask you to pick a plan; we won't cut someone off in the middle of your hiring.
- Early users are thanked. Anyone using Welp before paid plans open gets the first three months of any paid plan free.
What counts as an applicant
One person who runs your check in a calendar month, matched by the name they type. Re-runs don't count: we encourage applicants to test again on another day, and that should never cost you more. Your results page shows how many people this month.
Why it will cost something
Running the test costs us bandwidth and servers, and a business that pays its way is one that will still be here when your next hire comes round. If you check only your finalists, the free plan will likely cover you for good. Teams that test everyone who applies, and agencies screening hundreds of people a month, save hours on screenshots and are the ones we'll ask to pay.
Prices are in US dollars and may change before paid plans open. Once a check reaches 10 applicants, its results page asks one optional question about price, and the answers shape these numbers. Questions? Ask us.
